Shelter of the Kyles
Original Textile Work
This piece is an invitation to take a closer look at Argyll's Secret Coast.
From afar the simple, three-pronged graphic is intended to be visually arresting. On closer inspection the textural heights of the land, sudden depths of glaciated channels and almost connectedness of the shallows are revealed.
This map highlights the sheltered waters of the East and West Kyles of Bute and head of Loch Riddon, exploring how the shapes of the waters interact with surrounding landforms.
