Contemporary Scottish Artist, Jane Hunter - Textile Map - Geology of Lewis & Harris

Regular price £90.00

Textile art piece.  Geological map of the Isle of Lewis and Harris.

Many of the landscapes of the Isle of Lewis have an otherworldly feel, studded with tiny lochans, it could be the surface of the moon.  Dominated by it's namesake Lewisian Gneiss, some of the oldest rock in Britain, this piece features a black and white herringbone tweed which bears a striking resemblance to the gneiss.
